Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadium 2006 FIFA World Cup

When the FIFA 2006 World Cup is held in Germany, Stuttgart's Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadium will be one of the most technically advanced stadia in the country.
Modernization includes complete demolition and reconstruction of the north grandstand, refurbishment of the stadium concourse and new technical equipment. Additional program requirements included new catering facilities, additional restrooms and new locker and storage rooms. The interior of the new north grandstand houses a five level building that also serves as load-bearing structure for a new upper tier.
The north grandstand building is literally the keystone for an enhanced functionality of Gottlieb-
Daimler-Stadium. Particularly the new second level food-court improves visitor convenience.
The new upper tier provides 2150 attractive new seats close to the playing field and serves as a visual counterpart to the upper tier of the existing main grandstand.
