Multi functional hall Bietigheim-Bissingen

To create new playing areas on the DLW company´s premises for the ‘Steelers’ Ice Hockey Club and the ‘SG BBM’ Handball Club the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen comissioned a feasibility study. The entire complex comprises a multi-functional hall (5,000 spectators, based on the ice sports rink), an ice sports training hall, a handball training hall, a fitness centre and a multi-storey car park.
The successor to the individual independent parts of the utilities and buildings will be integrated into a building complex - but designed independently in extent and height - above a curved plinth at the development´s level and ‘laid out’ next to the railway embankment. The new multi-functional hall forms the well-defined and dominant centre of the entire complex, which meets the passengers arriving at the railway station as well as those emerging from the underpass on the B27 highway. A generous ramp guides the visitors parallel to the multi-functional hall onto the plinth level.
